Overview
The Antonov An-124 Ruslan is one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world, capable of carrying exceptional loads thanks to its front and rear loading ramps. It boasts an impressive payload of 120 t and a range of 5,400 km.
Developed in the USSR in the 1980s, the An-124 was designed to carry outsized military and industrial loads, with a hinged nose and a rear ramp allowing simultaneous loading from both ends.
It remains today the world reference for transporting exceptional cargo: industrial turbines, space equipment, construction machinery or bulky military equipment.
Its reinforced floor and built-in onboard cranes allow it to load items that few other commercial aircraft can accommodate.
