Overview
The Antonov An-225 Mriya remains, in aviation history, the largest cargo aircraft ever built, with six engines and a record payload of 250 t for a volume of 1,200 m3.
Designed in the 1980s to carry the Soviet Buran space shuttle on its back, the An-225 remains a unique symbol of aeronautical achievement, a one-off example never duplicated in series production.
Its listing is kept as a historical and technical reference within our aircraft guide, as the original aircraft was destroyed during fighting in 2022 at its home airport near Kyiv.
